- Breastfeeding Counseling and help with the latch or positioning
- Understanding Baby's feeding Cues and Burping techniques
- Changing diapers (cloth or disposable)
- Caring for mama as she recovers from birth (perineum and c-section scar care)
- Processing the birth experience
- Managing newborn and sibling care
- Swaddling Baby and Soothing strategies to get the baby back to sleep
- Keeping sleep, diapering and activity logs
- Sleep education and general newborn education for parents
- Help establish a sleep routine with Sleeping solutions on how to get enough sleep in the first weeks
- Bottle cleaning and sterilization
- Cleaning pump parts and Bottle preparation for the following day
- Light Housekeeping, laundry and food prep
- Errands
- Resources and Referrals for professional services to assist in mother or baby's healing process (massage, acupuncture, chiropractor, pediatrician support, IBCLCs, support groups, ect.)
- Non-judgmental support for organizing the home and nursery
- Screening for postpartum mood disorders
- Coordinating offers of help from friends and extended family to create a structured flow of help
- Care for baby when parents want to shower, nap, or spend some special time with older child(ren)
- Baby wearing assistance, education, and demonstrations
